Tools4CAP Advisory Board meeting

Oct 6, 2023 | Tools4CAP Updates

On 22 September 2023, Tools4CAP hosted its second online meeting with the Advisory Board to delve into its Conceptual Framework and its implementation across the different work packages. Particularly, they discussed the linkage with the forthcoming Inventory of methods and tools.

Ecorys, as the coordinator of the support action, presented the understanding of the New Delivery Model and how Member States have approached the process, considering influential factors and tool selection.

During the meeting, the Advisory Board raised questions about the scope and interpretation of the term ‘tool,’ emphasising the importance of clarifying that it is the approach to a tool that makes it replicable.

Regarding the Tools4CAP definition of end users’ needs in terms of tool adoption, the Advisory Board acknowledged the discourse on the temporary nature of capacity constraints. It was suggested that the framework could place greater emphasis on the investment dimension to encourage long-term thinking within Member States.

The release of the Tool4CAP conceptual framework (deliverable 1.2) will be in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for updates!

Don’t miss the project inventory, set to be published in the next few days. This inventory will encompass tools in various categories, including:

  • Stakeholders needs assessment tools
  • Policy choices supporting tools
  • Policy analysis tools for evidence-based decisions
  • Monitoring and data collection tools

The Tools4CAP Academy plans to organise a specific training to introduce the inventory in early 2024. More information on this will be available soon.
