Preference-based prioritisation tool
Rationale of use
The preference-based prioritisation tool addresses challenges in identifying and prioritising needs, such as stakeholder overrepresentation, while considering the interconnections between stakeholder needs. It can also be integrated with scenario building for a more comprehensive analysis. This tool is being tested in one of the Case Studies of Tools4CAP.Functioning
The tool follows a multi-step process to prioritise needs based on stakeholder input in agricultural policy. Initially, needs expressed by stakeholders are assigned to specific CAP objectives. A matrix of interrelationships helps refine the selection by identifying overrepresented and mutually exclusive needs. Throughout the process, agricultural policy experts play a key role in ensuring balanced and strategic prioritisation.Types of outputs
The tool distributes a defined pool of points across individual needs, reflecting the priorities of target beneficiaries of the CAP.Relevant CAP objective
