Digital platform ‘imPACtons!’
Rationale of use
In France, the ImPACtons! project, launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food in collaboration with the National Commission for Public Debate (CNDP), enabled nationwide public consultations on the post-2020 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). The initiative combined a digital platform with public debates and workshops.Functioning
The digital platform of 'ImPACtons!' allowed citizens and stakeholders to share their views, comments, and concerns on various aspects of the CAP, especially regarding the 9 specific objectives and the cross-cutting goal of modernisation. It also featured an interactive questionnaire that enabled participants to prioritise these objectives.Types of outputs
In total, 2,735 opinions and comments were submitted on the platform. Additionally, the questionnaire received 7,409 responses, helping to establish a prioritization of the key objectives for the post-2020 CAP. The entire debate process - together with the inputs through the workshops and public debates of 'ImPACtons!' - was documented in a comprehensive report by the CNDP. This report was then submitted to the French Ministry of Agriculture and Food and informed the Ministry's public statement on the lessons learnt from these debates, influencing France's National Strategic Plan for the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) 2021-2027.Relevant CAP objective
