Get to know Tools4CAP Advisory Board

Nov 7, 2023 | Tools4CAP Updates

Tools4CAP – which stands for “Innovative Toolbox empowering effective CAP governance towards EU ambitions” – is a Coordination and Support Action project (2023-2026) funded with 4 million euros by the Horizon Europe programme. Coordinated by ECORYS Brussels, Tools4CAP engages 20 partners from 18 EU countries.

The project is supported by an experienced Advisory Board that will be consulted at key project stages in the different work packages (WPs).

Alan Matthews (University of Dublin Trinity College), Frank Offermann (Thünen Institute of Farm Economics), Fabio Pierangeli (Council for Agricultural Research and Economics, CREA), Franz Sinabell (Austrian Institute of Economic Research, WIFO), Sophie Thoyer (INRAE) and Marek Wigier (Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics – National Research Institute, PIB) make up our Advisory Board.

To date, the Advisory Board has met twice, once in March and once in October this year with very valuable contributions to the progress of work. In particular, the Advisory Board will be convened to discuss:

  • In WP1 about State-of-the-art conceptualisation, inventory and evaluation:
  • In WP2 Screening and development of innovative quantitative tools; WP3 Co-designing participatory and multi-level governance decision tools and WP4 Integration and interoperability of new data, technology and digitalisation:
    • The identification of innovative tools
  • In WP5 about the replication lab: demonstration, support to adaptation and uptake:
    • The case study selection and planning

The advisory board will be invited to participate in consortium meetings, and, if they desired, they could participate in Tools4CAP Academy workshops.
