The Tools4CAP project will hold its Final Conference on 17–18 November 2026 at the Fondation Universitaire in Brussels, Belgium.
This event will mark a key milestone for the project, bringing together policymakers, Managing Authorities, Paying Agencies, researchers and practitioners to reflect on lessons from the current CAP and explore how evidence, analytical tools, stakeholder participation, governance and capacity-building can strengthen future strategic decision-making.
As preparations for the post-2027 CAP framework advance, the conference will place particular emphasis on the practical needs of public administrations and on how evidence-informed approaches can support more effective planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. It will also provide an opportunity to discuss the main results developed by Tools4CAP, their practical application across different national contexts, and how they can continue supporting CAP stakeholders beyond the lifetime of the project.
About the conference
Day 1 will focus on lessons from Tools4CAP and the implementation of the current CAP Strategic Plans, exploring how monitoring systems, quantitative and modelling tools, stakeholder engagement and multi-level governance approaches can support evidence-informed decision-making throughout the CAP policy cycle. Through presentations, case study experiences and a science-policy dialogue, the day will connect methodological insights with practical implementation challenges across different national contexts.
Day 2 will focus on the future of CAP strategic planning, examining the practical needs and challenges facing Member States and public administrations as they prepare for the next programming period. The programme will present the Tools4CAP Handbook of Good Practices and other key project resources, including the Inventory of Methods and Tools, Methodological Guidelines, and Capacity-Building Toolkit, while facilitating discussion on how these results can support evidence-informed policymaking and long-term uptake beyond the project.
