The European Commission has launched the Farm Sustainability Data Network (FSDN) to enhance the collection and use of farm-level sustainability data across the EU. Building on the long-standing Farm Accountancy Data Network (FADN), the FSDN expands its scope to include environmental, social, and economic sustainability indicators like greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity, water management, and labour practices. This data will support evidence-based policies, help farmers adopt sustainable practices, and align with EU strategies like the Green Deal.
To support the transition from FADN to FSDN, the EU CAP Network and DG AGRI are hosting a one-day workshop in Brussels. The event will bring together liaison agencies, CAP managers, data collectors, advisors, farmers, and stakeholders to:
- Discuss synergies and challenges in transitioning to FSDN.
- Update participants on the goals and requirements of the FSDN.
- Share experiences and best practices in comprehensive sustainability data collection.
