On 20 November and 3 December 2024, AEIDL organised two Academy modules as part of the Tools4CAP project, bringing together governance bodies and national policymakers from across the EU Member States. These sessions aimed to enhance capacity-building efforts by equipping participants with practical tools for a more evidence-based approach to designing and monitoring Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) Strategic Plans.
Following these training sessions, we are pleased to announce the publication of the Highlights Reports for each event, summarising key discussions, insights, and practical applications. These reports will soon be available in 16 EU languages covered by the consortium.
Advanced Data Management and Monitoring for CAP Strategic Plans
This Tools4CAP Academy module explored tools such as the Area Monitoring System, the Policy Monitoring Tool, the Data Aggregation Platform, the Farm Management Information System (FMIS), and the Digital Farm Book.
Led by Ecorys, ITACyL, NEUROPUBLIC, and ABACO, alongside experts from the Spanish Agrarian Guarantee Fund, the training provided participants with hands-on experience in collecting, processing, and integrating diverse CAP-relevant data sources. Attendees also gained valuable insights into data integration techniques. Discussions also covered Tools4CAP’s ongoing work on integration and interoperability of new data, technology and digitalisation.

Impact Assessment Models and Their Use in CAP Strategic Plans
This third module provided participants with insights into impact assessment models such as iMAP, GLOBIOM, and CAPRI.
Presented by project partners from the Joint Research Centre in Seville, IIASA, EuroCARE, and the AKI Institute of Agricultural Economics, this session offered both theoretical knowledge and practical applications.
